Frequently Asked Questions

Creating Your Account

1. Download and open I Fed the Pet
2. Create an account with your email, Apple, or Google
3. Choose “Create a Household” on the welcome screen
4. Create a name for your household (e.g., “Smith Family”)
5. Enter your name

A default pet is created for you automatically. You’ll start on the Free plan with space for 1 household, 2 members, and 1 pet.

Recording a Feeding

1. Tap the large red “I FED THE PET” button on the home

screen

1. If you have multiple pets (Pro), first select which pets) you fed using the checkboxes
2. The feeding is recorded instantly with the current time
3. The status card updates to show when and who fed the pet (s)
4. Other household members receive a notification (based on their notification settings)
5. You can tap “Undo” within 2 minutes if you made a mistake

The status card shows the last feeding time and who fed which pet(s)!

Checking Feeding History

1. View recent feedings in the “RECENT” section on the home screen
2. Tap the bell icon in the top-right corner to see all notifications
3. In notifications, see feeding activity, member joins, and household updates
4. Pro users can tap “VIEW ALL” to see up to their last 30 feedings

Free accounts see only their most recent feeding. Pro accounts can view up to their last 30 feedings.

Inviting Members (Admin Only)

1. Go to Settings → Household section
2. Tap “Share” and select your preferred method
3. They’ll receive the invitation code to join your household
4. Once they join, they appear as an “Active” member

Editing & Removing Members

• Tap the trash icon to remove a member from the household
• To edit your own name, go to Settings → Account

Only the Admin can manage members. Free accounts support up to 2 members.

Adding Multiple Pets (Pro Feature)

1. Upgrade to Pro to unlock multiple pets
2. Go to Settings → Pets section
3. Tap “Add pet” and enter the pet’s name
4. When feeding, use checkboxes to select which pets were fed

Removing Pets (Admin Only)

• In Settings → Pets, tap the trash icon next to the pet’s name
• Confirm the removal when prompted

Free accounts include one default pet. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited pets.

Managing Notification Preferences

1. Go to Settings → Notifications
2. Toggle “Feeding notifications” to get notified when pets are fed
3. Toggle “Member notifications” to get notified when new members join
4. Changes are saved automatically

All household members can customize their own notification preferences.

Creating Feed Reminders (Admin only)

1. Go to Settings → Reminders → Feed reminders
2. Tap “Add Reminder” to create a new reminder
3. Enter a label (e.g., “Morning feeding”)
4. Set the time you want to be reminded
5. Tap “Add” to save the reminder

Muting a Reminder

• Tap the toggle on any reminder to mute or unmute it
• Muting a reminder stops it for the whole household
• Only the Admin can mute or unmute reminders

Feed reminders are a Pro feature. Create unlimited custom reminders!

• 30 days feeding history

How to Upgrade

1. Scroll to the “Upgrade to Pro” card in Settings
2. Choose a yearly or monthly plan
3. Tap “Upgrade to Pro” to start your subscription

Only the Admin needs to upgrade. All household members get Pro benefits!
